Being a spiritual organisation with the motto ‘For salvation of oneself and for the welfare of the world’.

Method: Renunciation and Service. ‘To serve man is to serve God’ – as envisioned and practised by Swami Vivekananda.

All charitable activities run on donations received from the generous people, business houses, trusts, etc.

Nature of the Non –profit, Charitable service activities

Ashrama is serving the society in the various fields as follows:

  1. Spirituality and culture: by weekly lectures, temple, publishing books and a monthly magazine (‘Viveka Prabha’) in Kannada, spiritual retreats and meditation classes for all sections/classes of people, summer camps for children, Balaka sangha and Yuvaka Sangha – weekend cultural and self-help sessions for children and youth respectively, and a library.
  2. Education: Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala (a residential composite college), Viveka Shikshana (evening tuition classes for students from academically & socially backward sections), and the Study Centre for students.
  3. Welfare of economically and socially backward sections: Several philanthropic activities are undertaken under projects like Gadadhara Abhyudaya Prakalpa and Viveka Shikshana — for children and students from academically & socially backward sections.
  4. Welfare of Rural areas: Seva Mandira caters to the all-round development of the rural children, residential retreats for rural students.
  5. Relief work during natural calamities, etc.

 

Other Information

The institution is managed by the monks / sanyasins. Monks are appointed by the Headquarters, Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math. There are various branches in India & abroad, e.g. Mumbai-Khar-W, New Delhi-Pahad Ganj, Aurangabad, Nagpur in India and in the UK, USA, Europe, Australia, Japan, Nepal, etc.
