Viveka Study Centre

Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre – Viveka Smaraka has a dedicated study hall with about 80 desks for the benefit of youth (both women and men) preparing for competitive exams for higher education and jobs. Registrations are underway, and the Study Centre will open on Saturday, October 3rd, at 10:30 AM.

Facilities available:

    1. Well-stocked Library with books for various competitive exams
    2. Reading and Reference Sections
    3. A dedicated study hall
    4. Computers with Internet facility
    5. Academic Workshops
    6. Open 7 days a week (8:15 AM to 8 PM in two slots).

Study Centre picture

  1. Timings & Slot-wise Booking: The Study Centre operates in two daily slots. Both slots can be booked depending on availability. Owing to the limited number of desks, membership will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Existing members are advised to renew their membership well in advance to continue their membership.
  2. Maintenance fees:
    1. Registration Fee: ₹500 (non-refundable).
    2. Membership fee is ₹ 200 per month per slot. An aspirant can book both slots simultaneously (if available). Membership can be booked for a maximum of 6 months at a time. The membership fee is not refundable.
    3. A refundable Caution Deposit of ₹ 500 is to be paid at the time of registration.
  3. Attendance: Attendance will be recorded daily in both slots (calculated in both slots separately). The members are required to maintain at least 50% attendance (calculated per slot every month. Failure to fulfill the minimum required attendance may result in cancellation of membership.
  4. Issue of Books from Library: A member can borrow up to 3 books at a time. For now, library books cannot be taken outside the Library and Study Centre and must be returned on the same day.
  5. Dress Code: In keeping with the spirituo-cultural and educational atmosphere of the Institution, started at the sacred site sanctified by the stay of Swami Vivekananda, members should wear decent, modest and appropriate attire while coming to the Institution.

Admission procedure:

  1. The aspiring members need to fill out the online membership form (Click here for the link). 
  2. If desks are available, a confirmation message will be sent via WhatsApp / email with a link to pay the maintenance fee online.
  3. After that, the new candidates need to fill out a registration form at the Viveka Smaraka Office in person to complete the registration.
  4. The following documents must be furnished at the time of registration: Photocopy of a valid Photo ID Card (eg., Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport), Student ID Card (if currently a student), Degree /PUC  final gradesheet copy. Please bring the original copy of both ID cards for verification.

Renewal of membership:

  1. Existing members are advised to renew their membership well in advance to continue their membership.
  2. Existing members may contact the office for renewal. Members can change the desired slot during renewal, subject to availability.
